What is the Good News for today? For me, one important part of the good news is that  HarborPointe is still engaged on an adventure of faith…possibly akin to Abraham leaving Ur and
then Harran before ending up finally in Canaan…his promised destination (Gen 11:27-12:1).
God armed him with a promise of blessings…to himself, his family and the world at large (Gen 12:2-3). In the process I believe he discovered what Jesus taught, it is more blessed to give than receive (Acts 20:34-35).
Ironically, the Promised Land turned out to be the same place settled years before by the  descendants of the accursed Canaan (Gen 9:20-25)… maybe a way God chooses to transform
curses into blessings?
Ultimately, Abraham finds himself worshiping God…something he invites all of us to enter into as a centerpiece of the adventure (Gen 12:4-6)
