There is a cost to be paid whenever integrity and honesty are sacrificed to utility…the cost is our souls. How I wish that “Christian” at the very least meant that I am honest and act with integrity…and yet honesty is so rare that I wonder if dishonesty is ingrained in our DNA.
Dishonesty can certainly be traced back to the story of Cain and Abel (Gen 4:1-17).
Dishonesty may be the ultimate cause of flood (Gen 6:5).
Confronting our own dishonesty is our only hope for bringing the prodigal prodigal parts of our own soul back home to our Creator (Lk 15:17-20).
