Pride is one, often called the #1 of the Seven Deadly Sins and is defined as “extreme and love and focus on oneself.”… another term for self-destructive trait of narcissism (Proverbs 16:18).
Pride was the sin that started a vicious circle of self-centeredness that ultimately destroyed Adam and Eve relationship with God in the garden (Gen 3:1-5)…and continues destroy our relationship with God and others (1 Jn 4:7-9).
It is the great sin of celebrities and celebrity wanna be’s…and will destroy us unless we can relinquish our pedigree (Phil 3:5-9) while only taking pride in our weakness (2 Cor 11:30).
