A cursory reading of the the resurrection accounts in synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) reveals several different responses to the central message of Easter: He Is Risen Indeed!
In Mark, fear is the primary response of the women who came to the tomb (Mk 16:1-8).
For other disciples, this message was nonsense (Lk 24:9-11). On the other hand, it forced Peter to wonder (Lk 24:12). Matthew sees fear conjoined with joy (Matt 28:8-9).
All of this makes me conclude that on the one hand, there are many responses to the resurrection. On the other hand, the resurrection message wants to invade our life no matter what our response.
After all, “He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!” Touches all of us everywhere and in every situation of life, both now and to come.
