This morning, I want to invite you to take a soul exam…to ask your soul some hard question (2 Cor 13:1-5).
Actually, the Bible asks some really tough soul questions, like whether you would be willing to sacrifice your own son (Gen 22:1-12) or sell all your possessions and give the proceeds to the poor (Mk 10:17-22).
I think most of us would fail this test, or most anyone that we hope might vindicate us
(Rom 3:10-12).
Our only hope is God’s grace (Rom 3:23-24).
We are certainly not saved by the quality of our faith or love (Jn 21:15-19)…for Christ died for sinners not “pretend-to-be” saints (Rom 5:8).
