We are prone to play emotional and psychological games in order protect our fragile egos.
David knew all about this when he lusted, committed adultery, lied and murdered to keep his sin quiet…(2 Samuel 12:1-7) but in the end, only honesty and transparency ever wins out.
For sure, God knows all about us and there is no where we can hide from him (Ps 139:1- 12). After all he created us to be the way we are (Ps 139:13-16).
The prayer of transparency that can help us break through to the other side: “Search me, God and know my heart…” (Ps 139:23-24). May the real us be revealed to God and to the world.
