When the cards of life were dealt out, some people have received what they understand to be the worst hand possible…leprosy…a health issue that resulted in social isolation (Lev 13:45-46).
One OT story teaches us some lessons that we can learn from four lepers who lived through the siege of Samaria (2 Ki 7:3-9).
Jesus, remarkably, reached out and touched a leper in an effort to cleanse both his body and his soul (Matt 8:1-3; Mk 1:41).
Jesus also healed a group of lepers…including a Samaritan…and taught a lesson about interrelationship of gratitude, faith, and healing in the process (Lk 18:11-13).
We may not be ok. We may be broken, messed up, cast out, rejected…but somehow connecting to Jesus and his plan puts on the right track.
