WHAT IS THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT ENVY?

I think the good news about each of the Seven Deadly Sins is that they encourage the spiritually minded to seek God’s values to guide us through life (Ex 20:17).
Satan, on the other hand, encourages us to go full-bore into all of these sins, and maybe especially into envy, or jealousy, or covetousness and the result is disaster as per Adam and Eve (Gen 3:1-8) and Cain and Abel (Gen 4:1-7).
Fortunately, many have found a release from the snares envy through love and prayer (Matt 5:43-45a) and the pursuit of contentment in all things (Phil 4:10-11).
