Have you ever considered how much of the Bible revolves around people who are walking contradictions?
From Abraham, the friend of God, blessed to be a blessing (Jam 2:23 ; Gen 12:2-3)
To Abraham, the Sex Trafficker (Gen 20:10-16)
From David, a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22)
To David, the tyrannical Mob Boss (2 Sam 11:2-4)
From Peter the Rock, the Keeper of the Keys of the Kingdom (Matt 16:15-19)
To Peter, the Satan (Matt 16:21-23)
Even Jesus is a Walking Contradiction when he asserts is reliance on OT biblical authority (Matt 5:17-19), yet turns everything upside in what he has to say about murder (Matt 5:21-22), adultery (Matt 5:27-28), revenge (Matt 5:38-39), and the Sabbath (Mk 2:27-28). He takes contrary positions on many issues including two of his favorites peace (Matt 5:9; 10:34-35) and the poor (Matt 19:21; 26:10-11).
Could it be that God shows up most readily in the crosshairs of contradictions…those in our own lives as well as in life itself?
