The gospel story is somewhat akin to a good Hallmark movie…it’s definitely a love story with a happy ending. That is certainly the message in the letters of Paul (Rom 8:26-39), the parables of Jesus (Lk 15:11-24), and the writings of the prophets (Isa 40:1-6). I pray that each of us can sing that all we want for Christmas is Jesus.
