One of the best parts about the Lenten Season, this time of reflection on death of Christ…and our own mortality…is that it is a reminder to us live in the moment. Indeed, as the author of Ecclesiastes says: “There is a time for everything.” (Eccl 3:1-8)…
Jesus lived in the moment, constantly aware of his Destiney (Jn 2:1-4). There is a special time coming, but there is a special time taking place right now as well (Jn 4:21-24).
A lot of us move in and out of living in the moment…living in the midst of God’s time (Jn 5:35-36).
Most of us are unaware of the importance of timing as well as time… There definitely is a wrong time to do the right thing. (Jn 7:1-9)
Living in the moment may be misunderstood and misinterpreted by others (Jn 8:12-20) and scary for ourselves (Jn 12:20-28). But it is the only pathway into the love of God (Jn 13:1) and his ultimate presence (Jn 17:1)
There is only one way to glorify the Father…to live fully and completely in this moment of time. Not pressing rewind or fast foward…but to press pause…I am alive right now…in this moment…
